Artist Statement:
It seems like only yesterday
Our lives were just beginning.
Your love for us never failed,
Our hearts continually mending.
It is strange to watch the time fly
Before our very eyes,
Which remind me of the blessing,
That we have you in our lives.
63 years going strong,
Who would have thought love could last that long.
It’s that one of a kind love that we all don’t mind.
We pray to the lord to one day be that one.

For more than 50 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of America has celebrated the accomplishments of Club youth as they learn the art and science of photography. After local and regional competitions, the ImageMakers National Photography Contest yields national winners ages 6-18 years old whose photographs compete in four categories: Culture & Tradition, Portraits, Surroundings, and Photo with Essay or Poem. The annual contest is supported by our National Photography Program designed to help Club members go beyond taking simple snapshots and develop the skills to produce photographs that can truly impact a viewer. The program materials include several components to support an effective and dynamic learning experience including a downloadable facilitator’s guide, instructional videos to help staff prepare for each session, visual presentations to a ccompany lessons, and “How-To” videos for teens that can be shown in the sessions or used by teens for self-directed learning.
